How to Make Pokerstars eCheck Deposits

At Pokerstars, Instant eChecks are the preferred deposit method for many players. They are secure, simple to execute, have a high deposit success rate, and your funds are instantly available. Pokerstars does not charge any fees for making eCheck deposits. Download Pokerstars & Deposit Now.

Pokerstars eCheck deposits are electronic checks, the same payment method as you likely use for paying bills online. Simply add your checking account information and deposit amount, and you’re on your way to playing for real money.

For first time eCheck depositors, the maximum deposit amount is $100. While your money is ready to play with instantly, your funds may not be withdrawn until the check clears your bank (usually 10 days). After ten days have passed and your check has cleared, your eCheck deposit limit will go up, and withdrawals from your Pokerstars account can be processed.

Pokerstars eCheck deposit limits:

- $10 minimum, $300 in seven days, $600 in 30 days. Limits will go up after making successful eCheck deposits.

Here’s what the Pokerstars eCheck form looks like.

Pokerstars eChecks Form

For non – US players, Pokerstars eCheck deposits almost always work. They usually work for US players as well, but there are times when they don’t.

If Pokerstars eCheck Deposits Don’t Work, What Do I Do?

First, Pokerstars has what they call a Deposit Assistance Department. If you have a problem making a deposit using eChecks, this department has alternative deposit processors that they can use manually. The success rate for making deposits via the Deposit Assistance Department is much higher, so contact them. The Deposit Assistance Department can be contacted at dad@pokerstars.com. Tell them your player name and preferred deposit method, and tell them you need help making a deposit. They will contact you (usually in 30 minutes or less), and help you fund your account. Download Pokerstars.

If you still have problems getting your account funded, another option is to use a different deposit method. Pokerstars also accepts Visa, Mastercard and Diner’s Club credit cards, plus Click2Pay, Western Union, and Bank Wires/Cashiers Checks. Bank Wires & Cashiers Checks require snail mailing your check, so they are the least attractive option. Credit card deposit options are instant, and Western Union deposits typically fund your account within 30-60 minutes (up to 3-4 hours).

Another option is to try a different poker room. Just because a particular deposit option doesn’t work at one room, that doesn’t mean it won’t work at another room. We also love Full Tilt Poker and Bodog Poker for US (and non – US) players, and Party Poker & Bet365 Poker are great rooms for non – US players.

Pokerstars Instant eCheck Deposit Best Alternative

If you want to make a larger first deposit, try using a Visa, Mastercard, or Diner’s Club credit cards. Follow this link for more information on making a Pokerstars Visa deposit (same deposit information applies to Mastercard and Diner’s Club).

One other thing to consider… if you’re looking to take advantage of the $600 Pokerstars deposit bonus, you have options. While the new-player bonus is 100% up to $600, Pokerstars allows players to make up to 3 deposits within 90 days that all apply to the first deposit bonus. This means that you can make a deposit of $100 today, and still make two more deposits totaling another $500 (within 90 days), and all $600 will be eligible for the bonus. Using Visa, players can make a $600 first deposit, but even though eCheck deposits only allow $100 for the first deposit, you can still get the entire $600 bonus.

Pokerstars eCheck US Player Deposits

For now, eChecks seem to be working at all of the rooms that use them, including Pokerstars. On December 1, 2009 the UIGEA deposit rules are ’supposed’ to be enforced, which may or may not effect Pokerstars eCheck deposits. If US players are effected by the new enforcement, we will provide all the details, plus US player deposit options that are still working. Remember, the new enforcement does not make online poker illegal in the US, it just seeks to make it more difficult to deposit. We think Pokerstars will have plenty of easy deposit options still available to US players, and we’ll keep you informed of any changes that happen.

Pokerstars eCheck Bonus

It doesn’t matter what deposit option you use, the Pokerstars new-player bonus is the same. The bonus is 100% up to $600 no matter how you fund your account.

To get the Pokerstars bonus, write down Pokerstars marketing code PSA1037 and bonus code Stars600. When you register your new account, Pokerstars will ask for your marketing code. Enter PSA1037 into that field. When you make your first deposit, you will see a field asking for your Pokerstars bonus code. Enter Stars600 into that field.

Pokerstars eCheck Problems

If you have a problem making a deposit using Pokerstars eChecks, remember that Pokerstars isn’t trying to cause these problems. They don’t earn rake or tournament fees if you can’t play poker for real money. Pokerstars wants you to be able to make it easy for their players to make real money deposits.

If you have a problem with getting eCheck deposits to work, contact the Deposit Assistance Department at dad@pokerstars.com. They can help with any deposit problems you may be having.

How to Make Pokerstars Visa Deposits

Using Visa credits cards at Pokerstars is easy. Simply download the Pokerstars software, register to play, and open the Pokerstars lobby. In the lobby you will see a big red button that says ‘Cashier’. Click on the cashier button, then ‘Buy Chips’, then choose Visa in the next window. Deposits into Pokerstars using Visa credit cards allow players to get to the tables instantly. Pokerstars doesn’t charge any fees for Visa credit card deposits.

Pokerstars Visa deposits can be made in USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, SEK, NOK, DKK and AUD, saving players up to 3% in Visa exchange services charges.

Making Pokerstars deposits using Prepaid Visa and Gift Visa cards are the same as regular Visa cards, but not all of them will be accepted. Scroll down this page for more information about using these types of Visa deposit options.

Pokerstars Visa Real Money Deposit Limits

- Minimum Visa Deposit – $10

- Maximum Visa Deposit – $600 in 24 hours, $1500 in 7 days, $2000 in 30 days.

My Visa Credit Card Didn’t Work – Now What?

If your Visa credit card, gift card or Prepaid Visa doesn’t work, contact the Deposit Assistance Department at dad@pokerstars.com. They have other ways to process your Visa cards, with much better success rates.

Remember, if your Pokerstars Visa is initially rejected, it’s not because Pokerstars doesn’t want you to make a deposit. It’s because the US banks are being forced to try to stop Visa transactions into online poker rooms. Sometimes they are successful, and sometimes they are not. The success rate for US players depositing with Visa cards at Pokerstars is still quite high, and the Deposit Assistance Department can help if your card is initially denied.

If your Visa credit card doesn’t work, another option is to try using the Pokerstars eCheck deposit method. Pokerstars eChecks are also instant, and work like any other EFT you you might use to pay bills online.

If neither of these options work, and the Deposit Assistance Department can’t help with deposit problems, you can also try another room. Bodog Poker and Full Tilt Poker are great choices for US players (as well as non – US players), and Bet365 and Party Poker are great rooms for non – US players.

Using Prepaid Visa and Gift Visa Cards at Pokerstars

While the deposit process is the same for Prepaid Visa and Gift Visa cards, not all of them will work for making deposits. If you want to make a deposit using one of these types of Visa cards, do everything the same as you would for any other Visa deposit. If the deposit is not accepted, contact the Pokerstars Deposit Assistance Department at dad@pokerstars.com for help. They can usually get these cards to work by running them through a different Visa processor.

Pokerstars Visa for US Players

As of right now Visa credit cards are working for most US players. The UIGEA seeks to make depositing into online poker rooms more difficult for US players beginning on December 1st of 2009. This enforcement will likely make it harder to use credit cards, but the Deposit Assistance Department at Pokerstars may have a way around that. Since the new enforcement hasn’t started yet, we just have to wait and see. The main thing to remember about the UIGEA is this – it does not make online poker illegal in the US, it just limits our ability to make easy deposits.

Once December 1st comes, we’ll keep a close eye on available deposit options for US players. We will keep US players up to date as things happen and/or change. If you have problems making deposits at Pokerstars using your Visa credit card, come back here for the latest information.

US online poker players are always looking for easier ways to make deposits. What deposit options do I have? What options are instant? What deposit options do I have that don’t force me to jump through hoops? Now, with the UIGEA supposedly ‘taking effect’ on December 1st, players are wondering what US deposit options will be available to them. Remember, the UIGEA doesn’t make playing online poker illegal – it just aims to make depositing more difficult.

First, lets talk about the Pokerstars deposit options available to US players today. Then we’ll talk a little about what we can expect after December 1st.

Play at Pokerstars

Pokerstars US Players Deposit Options

Currently, players can choose from a few instant deposit methods, and one other good choice as well. These include Instant eChecks, Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, Money Order/Cashiers Check, Western Union & Click2Pay.

Pokerstars Instant eChecks Deposits for US Players

This is one of the more popular deposit methods for US players. It’s easy, instant, and has a high success rate. A few months back Instant eChecks were down at all major US poker sites. Some sites had Instant eChecks back up and running in a few days, others took a couple of weeks. Regardless, they’ve been working ever since, and are the best option right now (October, 2009).

The minimum deposit players can make using Instant eChecks at Pokerstars is $10. The maximum in a 24 hour period is $100. Players can deposit $300 in a seven day perion, or $600 in a 30 day period. Also, there is a limit of one deposit per 48 hours. So, if you deposit $100 today, you can deposit another $100 48 hours later.

There is no fee for using the Instant eChecks deposit option at Poker Stars.

Pokerstars Visa, Mastercard & Diners Club Deposit Options

While these deposit options are very fast and simple, sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. Players often think Pokerstars is turning down their credit card, when in fact it’s the bank turning down Pokerstars. Another thing that most players don’t know is that Pokerstars has a way around this. They have a Deposit Assitance Department that players can contact who will run your card through a third party processor. This means that your bank won’t know you’re depositing to a poker site, therefore getting your deposit made successfully. So, if your card doesn’t work, don’t worry – just contact dad@pokerstars.com.

One of the benefits of using Visa, Mastercard and Diners Club at Pokerstars is the deposit limit. Players can use these options for a minimum deposit of $10, and a maximum of $600 in one day. This deposit option allows players to take advantage of the full $600 Pokerstars bonus.

Using these cards, players can deposit up to $1500 in seven days, or $2000 in 30 days. There are no fees for using Visa, Mastercard or Diners Club credit cards.

Sign Up and Make a Visa, Mastercard, or Diners Club Deposit

Pokerstars Click2Pay Deposits

Click2Pay is a secure online wallet similar to Neteller. However, instead of having to fund your Click2Pay account first, all you have to do is register a preferred deposit method. Then, when you make a Click2Pay deposit at Pokerstars, Click2Pay will automatically take the funds from that account. So, if you’ve set your preferred deposit method to be a credit card, then Click2Pay will charge your credit card at that time. Lots of US online poker sites offer Click2Pay, so it is a convenient deposit method to have available.

Click2Pay deposits have the same minimum and maximum deposit amounts as credit cards. The minimum deposit is $10, and the maximum 24 hour deposit is $600. You can deposit up to $1500 in seven days, or $2000 in 30 days.

When you go to the Pokerstars cashier, they will give you specific instructions on how to set up your Click2Pay account.

Sign Up and Make a Deposit Using Click2Pay

Pokerstars Western Union Deposits

Western Union is another great deposit option, as long as you don’t mind waiting 30-60 minutes before you can play. Western Union is definitely under-utilized, as it’s a very simple deposit option. Pokerstars does not accept Western Union deposits that have been funded via debit or credit card. That’s ok though, because it’s still easy to use Western Union to make a deposit. Western Union fees apply, but Pokerstars doesn’t charge anything additional.

Almost every grocery store in the US has a Western Union kiosk inside, making them simple to find. They are also located in various other places. Use the Western Union locator to find the Western Union nearest you.

Then, download Pokerstars.net and go to the cashier window. Choose the Western Union deposit option for details on where to send your money. Write that information down, then go to the Western Union office of your choice. If you can use Fed-Ex, you can use Western Union. It’s that easy.

Sign Up and Use Western Union to Make a Deposit

Pokerstars Money Order & Cashiers Check Deposits

Yeah, these are available deposit options, but you have to wait for snail mail. While these may become more popular choices after Dec. 1, they are not the best options available to us right now. Any of the Pokerstars US deposit options listed above are easier to use.

Pokerstars US Deposit Options After December 1st

What will happen to our Pokerstars deposit options after December 1st comes around? That’s a good question. While nobody can say for sure, it’s suspected that we will lose the Instant eChecks deposit option. Credit cards will likely stick around, with more players needing to use the Deposit Assistance Department. This department may become a players best friend, making otherwise difficult deposits easy. Western Union and Click2Pay are up in the air as well. It may be that they choose to keep offering their services, or they may not.

One thing we can be sure of is this. Pokerstars has not worked this hard to become the largest poker room in the world just to give it away. There will likely be new deposit options available, and new ways to get around the UIGEA. If players can’t deposit, the poker rooms can’t make money. As large as the US market is, my guess is that we’ll have 2-4 weeks of confusion in December, followed by some new options for making easy deposits. At this point all we can do is wait and see…and load up our accounts now.

Don’t forget to write down the Pokerstars marketing code PSA1037 and Pokerstars deposit bonus code Stars600. Using these codes will allow players to get the new 100% / $600 bonus.

The countdown to the Bodog Poker Open IV starts now! I don’t want to hype this or sound like a used car salesman, but I honestly love this series. I’ll admit it, the main reason I love this series is because I’m such a big fan of Bodog. As a self-proclaimed expert, I can often be heard beating my friends over the head with all the reasons they should be playing at this room, so now it’s your turn. ;)

I’m going to tell you about the Bodog Poker Open IV in a second here, and if you don’t want to hear all the reasons to be playing at Bodog Poker, go ahead and scroll down this page and save 40 seconds of your life. However, if you aren’t familiar with Bodog, give me a moment to tell you why this room is so cool.

As I always tell my friends, it’s where James Bond would play. From the website to the software, to the types of players Bodog has, there’s just something sexy about this room. While a lot of online poker players bounce from room to room, a good percentage of players at Bodog consider themselves ‘Bodog players’. I do as well.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t play at other rooms also, and it certainly doesn’t mean that Bodog is the best overall room. It means they have a lot of cool reasons to play there, reasons that most other rooms don’t have.

First, the players at Bodog Poker are extremely aggressive. While I don’t claim that Bodog has the best poker room, they do have an online sportsbook and casino that many experts and players agree, are the best online. A large number of the poker players at Bodog come from the sportsbook and casino, and many of them are hard-core action junkies. This results in ultra-aggressive play at the cash tables, making them easy to beat for good profit. Juicy, easy to beat games – isn’t that what we’re all looking for?

If you’re a hard-core tournament player, you should check out our Pokerstars bonus page and get up to $600 free when you register a new account there. However, if your preference is cash games and Texas Hold’em sit-n-go tournaments, Bodog Poker is a great place to play. They have the juiciest cash games online, plenty of sit-n-go traffic, and their so-called ‘Beginner Sit-n-Go Tournaments’ are extremely popular.

* Before you head to the poker room, write down Bodog Poker bonus code (Bodog calls it a referral number) 1602945. Bodog will ask for this during the registration process, and it will allow you to get the 110% up to $550 bonus.

Get my Bodog Poker bonus now.

There is a lot more I could say, but since this article is about the Bodog Poker Open IV, I’ll go ahead and get to that now.

Bodog Poker Open IV

The latest installment of the Bodog Poker Open begins on November 1st. It consists of 15 events, 8 of which are designed for lower-stakes players.

The Contender Series is a total of 8 events with buy-in amounts that range from $5+.50 up to $46+4. The $46+4 tournament is the Main Event, giving players a chance to win some big money, without the big money buy-in. The Contender Series begins on the 1st of November, and runs one event each day until the following Sunday. Every event has an additional $500 – $7500 added to the prize pool by Bodog Poker – nice. Anyone who makes a final table in this series will also win a free seat into the Championship Series Main Event – a $500 buy-in.

Satellite tournaments are available for each Contender Series event, and they range from just $.50 up to $5. Play in Contender Series Satellite Tournaments.

7 different events make up the Championship Series, with buy-ins that range from $50+5 up to $470+30. To add some excitement, Bodog Poker is adding between $2,500 – $25,000 to every prize pool in the Championship Series. These are nice overlays to take advantage of. All players making a final table will also win a $500 seat into the Main Event.

Satellite tournaments for the Championship Series start for as little as $1 in cash, or 30 Bodog Poker Points. Play in Championship Series Satellite Tournaments.

All events in the Bodog Poker Open IV are Texas Hold’em tournaments. Most are no-limit, but there are also a few FL and PL events.

If you’re looking for a place to play in some great 2-7 tournaments, Pokerstars has about as good of a selection as you’ll find online. They offer multi-table FL 2-7 Triple Draw tournaments on a daily basis with buy-ins of $2+.20 and $10+1. There are also daily NL 2-7 Single Draw tournaments for $2+.20, $10+1, $15+1.50, and $20+2.

Pokerstars Daily 2-7 Triple Draw Tournaments

The daily 2-7 Triple Draw tournaments give players 1500 chip starting stacks and have 15 minute blind levels.

The $2.20 tournament is held at 22:30 ET every day. This tournament usually draws about 50-70 players, with prize pools in the $100-$140 range.

The $11 tournament is also held every day, and it runs at 14:45 ET. This Pokerstars tournament usually generates about 20 players and a $200 prize pool.

Pokerstars Daily 2-7 Single Draw Tournaments

The 2-7 Single Draw tournaments are more popular than the Triple Draw tournaments, and Pokerstars offers them in a wider selection of buy-ins. All of them give players 2000 chip starting stacks, and have 15 minute blind levels.

- $2+.20. Runs at 14:15 ET every day.
- $10+1. Runs at 1:15 ET every day.
- $15+1.50. Runs at 19:15 ET every day.
- $20+2. Runs at 21:45 ET every day.

Pokerstars Weekly $5000 2-7 Single Draw Tournament

Pokerstars offers a weekly $5000 guaranteed 2-7 Single Draw tournament. The $5000 guaranteed is run every Sunday at 15:15 ET and usually has 20-30 players. This is a NL tournament with 4000 chip starting stacks and 15 minute blind levels.

With a buy-in of $200+15, the tournament needs 25 players to meet the guarantee. When it doesn’t reach the mark, Pokerstars makes up the difference yet there are fewer players to beat. For example, this last Sunday (Oct. 4th), the $5k guaranteed only drew 22 players, contributing $4400 of the $5000. So, Pokerstars added another $600 themselves, offering players a nice overlay to take advantage of.

This last Sunday paid the top 4 players, with first taking down $2,250. 2nd place got $1500, 3rd took home $750, and 4th was good for $500.

Pokerstars WCOOP 2-7 Triple Draw Tournament

Each year at the Pokerstars WCOOP, Pokerstars runs a huge 2-7 Triple Draw tournament. In the 2009 WCOOP it had a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool, with a direct buy-in of $300+20. The event drew a total of 468 entrants and the prize pool grew to $140,400. The winner was TimmyK who took home a nice paycheck of $26,676. The top 72 made the money, offering more than the standard top 10% a cash prize. 72nd place paid $449.28.

Pokerstars is doing a nice job of helping to grow the popularity of non-Hold’em games. They have good traffic in Razz & Badugi, and of course in Omaha & Stud games. If you’re looking for something new to play, try Pokerstars.

Before you head over to the room, jot down Pokerstars marketing code PSA1037 and Pokerstars bonus code Stars600. The marketing code needs to be entered when you register your new account. The bonus code needs to be entered when you make your first deposit. Used together players can get the new $600 bonus being offered at Pokerstars.com.

The 7th annual Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure is coming soon, and satellite tournaments are running now. The 2009 main event had a prize pool well over $12 million, with the winner taking home a cool $3 million! There were 1347 entrants, and Pokerstars is shooting for even more this year. The only tournament in the world that is bigger is the WSOP main event.

The PCA is actually part of three different poker tours that all play this event. The EPT, APPT, and LAPT all converge on this one giant event which is the favorite tournament for many pro players. If you win a seat, you’ll have a chance to play with the biggest names in poker, including Pokerstars Pro players Daniel Negreanu, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem, and more.

There are tons of tournaments in this years schedule, but the Main Event begins on Jan. 5th and goes through the 11th. The tournament will be held on Paradise Island at the Atlantis Resort & Casino in the Bahamas.

$15,130 prize packages can be won at Pokerstars, and they include the $10,300 tournament buy-in, plus luxury hotel accommodations, and $1000 for spending money or travel expenses. Satellite tournaments for the 2010 Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure start at just $2.22 or 111 Frequent Player Points. You can also win a seat through Steps satellite tournaments, starting at Step one for $7.50. You don’t have to start at Step one, but it’s the cheapest entry point.

Satellite tournaments for the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure have a wide range of buy-ins to suit any bankroll. For a better shot at winning a seat, you can play in satellites with buy-ins as big as $700. There are a variety of satellites starting every 5-10 minutes, and they will continue like this until the PCA begins on Jan. 4th. Since over 80% of all players in the PCA Main Event come from satellite tournaments at Pokerstars, there’s no better way to win a seat.

There is also a High Rollers Event with a $25,500 buy-in. Beyond that, there are a number of daily events with buy-in’s that range from $500 – $5000.

To find the satellite tournaments for the 2010 PCA, go to the Pokerstars lobby and click on ‘Events’, then ‘PCA’. If you’re reloading your account, use Pokerstars bonus code WINCAR to get your ticket.

After you make your deposit, go to the tournament lobby and register for the tournament. You’ll find it by clicking on ‘Tourney’, then ‘Regional’. Once you’ve registered, don’t forget to write it on your calender or put a post-it note on your monitor so you don’t forget when it runs.
