The 7th annual Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure is coming soon, and satellite tournaments are running now. The 2009 main event had a prize pool well over $12 million, with the winner taking home a cool $3 million! There were 1347 entrants, and Pokerstars is shooting for even more this year. The only tournament in the world that is bigger is the WSOP main event.
The PCA is actually part of three different poker tours that all play this event. The EPT, APPT, and LAPT all converge on this one giant event which is the favorite tournament for many pro players. If you win a seat, you’ll have a chance to play with the biggest names in poker, including Pokerstars Pro players Daniel Negreanu, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem, and more.
There are tons of tournaments in this years schedule, but the Main Event begins on Jan. 5th and goes through the 11th. The tournament will be held on Paradise Island at the Atlantis Resort & Casino in the Bahamas.
$15,130 prize packages can be won at Pokerstars, and they include the $10,300 tournament buy-in, plus luxury hotel accommodations, and $1000 for spending money or travel expenses. Satellite tournaments for the 2010 Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure start at just $2.22 or 111 Frequent Player Points. You can also win a seat through Steps satellite tournaments, starting at Step one for $7.50. You don’t have to start at Step one, but it’s the cheapest entry point.
Satellite tournaments for the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure have a wide range of buy-ins to suit any bankroll. For a better shot at winning a seat, you can play in satellites with buy-ins as big as $700. There are a variety of satellites starting every 5-10 minutes, and they will continue like this until the PCA begins on Jan. 4th. Since over 80% of all players in the PCA Main Event come from satellite tournaments at Pokerstars, there’s no better way to win a seat.
There is also a High Rollers Event with a $25,500 buy-in. Beyond that, there are a number of daily events with buy-in’s that range from $500 – $5000.
