How to Make Pokerstars Visa Deposits
Using Visa credits cards at Pokerstars is easy. Simply download the Pokerstars software, register to play, and open the Pokerstars lobby. In the lobby you will see a big red button that says ‘Cashier’. Click on the cashier button, then ‘Buy Chips’, then choose Visa in the next window. Deposits into Pokerstars using Visa credit cards allow players to get to the tables instantly. Pokerstars doesn’t charge any fees for Visa credit card deposits.
Pokerstars Visa deposits can be made in USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, SEK, NOK, DKK and AUD, saving players up to 3% in Visa exchange services charges.
Making Pokerstars deposits using Prepaid Visa and Gift Visa cards are the same as regular Visa cards, but not all of them will be accepted. Scroll down this page for more information about using these types of Visa deposit options.

My Visa Credit Card Didn’t Work – Now What?
If your Visa credit card, gift card or Prepaid Visa doesn’t work, contact the Deposit Assistance Department at dad@pokerstars.com. They have other ways to process your Visa cards, with much better success rates.
Remember, if your Pokerstars Visa is initially rejected, it’s not because Pokerstars doesn’t want you to make a deposit. It’s because the US banks are being forced to try to stop Visa transactions into online poker rooms. Sometimes they are successful, and sometimes they are not. The success rate for US players depositing with Visa cards at Pokerstars is still quite high, and the Deposit Assistance Department can help if your card is initially denied.
If your Visa credit card doesn’t work, another option is to try using the Pokerstars eCheck deposit method. Pokerstars eChecks are also instant, and work like any other EFT you you might use to pay bills online.
If neither of these options work, and the Deposit Assistance Department can’t help with deposit problems, you can also try another room. Bodog Poker and Full Tilt Poker are great choices for US players (as well as non – US players), and Bet365 and Party Poker are great rooms for non – US players.
Using Prepaid Visa and Gift Visa Cards at Pokerstars
While the deposit process is the same for Prepaid Visa and Gift Visa cards, not all of them will work for making deposits. If you want to make a deposit using one of these types of Visa cards, do everything the same as you would for any other Visa deposit. If the deposit is not accepted, contact the Pokerstars Deposit Assistance Department at dad@pokerstars.com for help. They can usually get these cards to work by running them through a different Visa processor.
Pokerstars Visa for US Players
As of right now Visa credit cards are working for most US players. The UIGEA seeks to make depositing into online poker rooms more difficult for US players beginning on December 1st of 2009. This enforcement will likely make it harder to use credit cards, but the Deposit Assistance Department at Pokerstars may have a way around that. Since the new enforcement hasn’t started yet, we just have to wait and see. The main thing to remember about the UIGEA is this – it does not make online poker illegal in the US, it just limits our ability to make easy deposits.
